The Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental (DICEA) of the University of Naples “Federico II” was founded in 2013 as a result of the new organizational structure determined by the University Reform (Law 240/2010).
The Department was born by the aggregation of a number of scientific, all members are experts in Civil Engineering.
In particular, three old departments have converged into it:
The Department of Hydraulic, Geotechnical and Environmental Engineering;
The Department of Transportation Engineering “L. Tocchetti “;
The Department of Urban and Regional Planning.

The facilities of the Department are located in three different buildings, two are in Via Claudio and one in Piazzale Tecchio, with an area of about 10,000 s.q.m. .
To support our research, there are three large laboratories that perform particular services on territorial level:
